Eccentric training effects for patients with post-stroke hemiparesis on strength and speed gait: A randomized controlled trial

چکیده
BACKGROUND: In hemiparetic patients, the skeletal muscle is mainly affected with a combination of abnormalities (denervation, remodeling, spasticity, and eventually muscular atrophy). OBJECTIVE: This study examined role eccentric exercise in strengthening muscles lower extremity ultimately improving autonomy patients post-stroke hemiparesis during gait. METHODS: Thirty-seven adults were recruited, randomized into control group (n = 19) an intervention receiving 18). The protocol consisted three sets five repetitions contraction paretic limb after determining maximum repetition (1 MRI). Evaluation 1RM, 10 meters 6WMT was performed before for each group. Manova test used to compare differences between groups. RESULTS: showed significant increase one-repetition (1RM) rehabilitation (p≤0.00003). two groups Patients increased their walking speed (p≤0.0005), but we observed difference only 6MWT not on Test. CONCLUSIONS: Eccentric training can be useful limbs, promoting gait performance. could complement other methods managing hemiparesis.
